"Electrical stimulation of muscles is a powerful technique to rebuild muscle mass and strength. It is also  helpful for reducing the harm of inactivity which is critical for those who are disabled by their illness.  I consider NeuFit and their trained professionals to be the very best at utilizing electrical stimulation and exercise to rehabilitate those who have had a traumitic spinal cord injury, stroke or multiple sclerosis (or other neuromuscular disease).  They are my preferred professional team with whom to work!"

In this video, Dr. Terry Wahls interviews NeuFit's Founder, Garrett Salpeter in a preview of Garrett's talk at the 2020 Wahls Seminar. They talk about some of the basics of neuroplasticity, and review the use of direct current to tap into the power of neuroplasticity to restore lost physical function.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this help with M.S.?

Although the Neubie device is not indicated to treat M.S., the NeuFit System has been able to help some people with M.S. manage their symptoms and improve quality of life. The NEUBIE device is able to reduce spasms, increase range of motion, improve circulation, prevent atrophy, and provide neuromuscular re-education. With the NeuFit protocols, this combination has enabled some people with M.S. to improve function, become more mobile, and return to activities that had become challenging or impossible.

Can NeuFit help with my injury?

Well, it depends. Fortunately, the NeuFit System is able to help most of the people who use it. Coupled with the NEUBIE device's ability to re-educate muscles, increase blood flow, improve range of motion, prevent atrophy, decrease spasms, and relieve or manage pain, the NeuFit system has helped many people recover from sports injuries and various traumas and surgeries. Of course there are times when therapy and rehab strategies aren't enough, and more serious interventions are necessary. If something is completely torn, for example, surgery may be the best solution. The good news is that NeuFit is non-invasive and very safe. Because of the low risks, it is often worth trying as a conservative strategy before considering more serious and invasive interventions like surgery and injections.

Can this help with recovery from stroke / spinal cord injury / traumatic brain injury?

It depends on the situation. Harnessing the NEUBIE's capacity for neuromuscular re-education, the NeuFit System has helped some people recover from these challenges in order to restore function. In some cases that recovery has meant slight increases in balance, movement, or the ability to complete activities of daily living. In a few cases it has been as dramatic as helping people get out of wheelchairs and walk again. There are many factors that affect a person's recovery potential, so unfortunately NeuFit will not be helpful in all cases. If you or someone you know is dealing with one of these challenges, we encourage you to reach out to us or your local NeuFit Practitioner directly to discuss your situation.

Is the NEUBIE safe for me?

The NEUBIE is FDA-cleared and considered safe as long as it is used within the appropriate guidelines. For example, it is contraindicated for people who have a pacemaker or are pregnant. There are other situations in which practitioners should exercise caution. If you have any questions about your particular situation, please consult your medical professional.

Is this a TENS unit?

The NEUBIE is similar to a TENS unit in that it is a type of electrical stimulation. That is, however, where the similarities stop. The NEUBIE is much more powerful, has different effects on the body, and can do more things. TENS units use alternating current (AC), while the NEUBIE uses direct current (DC). Some of the beneficial effects of DC on the body are described here. Whereas a TENS unit is for masking pain, the NEUBIE is able to do so much more. It is FDA-cleared for neuromuscular re-education, maintaining or increasing range of motion, reducing spasms, increasing blood flow, preventing atrophy, relieving pain, and more.
